Richard B. Cheney, a distinguished public servant and a businessman is vice president. Cheney is a recognizable person in Washington throughout his time. George W. Bush was the fourth president to Cheney, who he served. Bush selected Cheney during the summer of 2000 as his vice-presidential running mate commenting on Cheney's wisdom and judgment. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to the President. He also worked in Congress and was Secretary of Defense. Republicans as well as Democrats both respect his integrity. Cheney says he is an honest and discreet advisor for Bush within his administration. Cheney has stated in accepting his appointment as Republican vice president he wants to be a president candidate who will be a cross-partisan collaborator and work with political rivals with kindness and with a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. In the age of thirteen Richard and his family relocated out of Nebraska and moved to Casper which was where his dad worked as the Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservancy district.
